What you do in between your skincare routine has a tremendous impact on the
appearance and feel of your skin. Good living habits can complement your skincare or sabotage it. These are three easy habits that form the cornerstone of having healthy skin from the inside out.
Hydration
Your biggest organ is your skin, and it needs to be hydrated in order to work effectively. Hydration keeps your skin elastic, improves overall tone, and reduces fine lines. Drink at least eight glasses of water a day and consume water-dense foods like cucumbers, oranges, and leafy greens for extra benefit.
Quality Sleep
Your skin regenerates and heals itself overnight. That’s why seven to eight hours of sleep each night is so important. Poor sleep can lead to dull skin, puffy eyes, and spots. Try to develop a consistent bedtime routine, avoid screens before bedtime, and create a calming evening routine to promote deep restorative sleep.
Balanced Diet
You literally are what you eat when referring to your skin. Nourishing foods such as berries, avocados, almonds, and fatty fish are full of antioxidants and healthy fats that feed and protect your skin. Sugary and processed food diets do the opposite and lead to inflammation and acne, though. Making small tweaks to what and how you eat can make a big difference in your skin over time.
